Privacy Policy
Effective 9 September 2026 · Version 1.0
Clinkpass is operated by Procure Media LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What we collect
When you create an account Your name, email address, date of birth, and a password. We never store your password — only a scrambled version of it that cannot be reversed. Date of birth is collected because our offers involve alcohol and membership is limited to people 21 and over.
Your name, your email address, and the month and day of your birthday are shared with a venue when you redeem an offer there. The year you were born is never shared with anyone. See What we share, and with whom below.
Your phone number, only if you give it to us. It is optional, it is never shared with venues, and we only use it for marketing if you ticked the box. See Communications below.
When you pay Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record that you have an active membership and when it runs until.
When you use the app Which venues and offers you look at, and every redemption: the venue, the offer, the time, and whether your location matched the venue.
Your location — two different ways
- If you allow location access, we use your device's location to show nearby venues and to record whether you were at the venue when you redeemed.
- Even if you don't, we can tell roughly what city you're in from your internet connection, because every request carries an approximate location. We use this only to centre the map on your area. It is city-level, not a street address, and it is an estimate.
We tell you this plainly because it would be worse to find it out.
What you tell us you're interested in, if you choose to — categories like live music, trivia, or which sports teams you follow. Entirely optional.
Communications — email, text, and phone
Two kinds of message, and they work differently.
Service messages (you cannot turn these off while you are a member)
We need to reach you to run your account. By email:
- Sign-in and verification codes
- Password resets
- Payment receipts, renewal notices, and failed-payment warnings
- Important changes to this policy or our terms
These are not marketing and there is no unsubscribe, because without them your account cannot function. If you close your account, they stop.
Marketing messages (opt-in, and you can stop them any time)
Email. If you opt in, at most one email a week about offers and events near you. Every one carries an unsubscribe link and our postal address. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately and never affects your membership or your service messages.
Text messages and marketing calls. We will only text or call you about promotions if you explicitly ticked the box asking us to. That box is never pre-ticked, and declining it does not affect your membership in any way.
If you opt in: message and data rates may apply, message frequency varies, reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. STOP takes effect immediately and permanently for that number, across everything we send — texts and calls both.
Phone calls. We may call you about a problem with your account — a failed payment, a disputed redemption, a security issue — if email hasn't worked. Those are service calls and they are not marketing.
We may also call or text you about offers, events, new venues and other things we think you'd want to know about, but only if you gave us your number and ticked the box permitting it. That box covers calls and texts together, it is never pre-ticked, and ticking it is never a condition of membership. You can withdraw it at any time in your settings, or by replying STOP to a text, or by telling whoever calls you to stop calling. Any of those three stops both channels.
How we decide what to send you
If you told us your interests, we use them to choose which offers and events to include, so a message about live music goes to people who said they like live music. We do not sell or rent your contact details to anyone.
We do share limited information with the venue where you redeemed an offer — see What we share, and with whom below.
Changing your mind
Everything above is switchable in your account settings, any time, without emailing anyone. We keep a record of what you agreed to and when, because we need to be able to show that we had your permission.
What we share, and with whom
With the venues where you redeem
Read this part carefully — it is the part most people would want to know.
When you redeem an offer at a venue, that venue is told:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The month and day of your birthday — so they can send you something on it
- The offer, and the time you redeemed it
- Whether your location confirmed you were there
We never give a venue the year you were born, so no venue ever holds your full date of birth.
Your name shows on screen at the moment of redemption so staff can match the ticket to a person. The rest reaches the venue in a nightly summary of everyone who redeemed there that day.
A venue only ever learns about people who redeemed at that venue. We do not give any venue a list of our members, we do not tell one venue where you drink elsewhere, and we never share your phone number or your payment details with any venue.
What the venue may do with it. Once a venue has your email address, its use of it is governed by that venue's own privacy practices, not ours. A venue may add you to its own mailing list. We ask venues to honour unsubscribes and to follow the law, but we cannot control what an independent business does with an email address, and you should assume you may hear from venues you visit. Unsubscribing from a venue's list is done with that venue, not with us.
If you would rather this did not happen, do not redeem offers — your membership, browsing and location are not shared with anyone.
With companies that run parts of the service
- Cloudflare — hosting, and the approximate location described above
- Stripe — payments
- Zoho / ZeptoMail — service emails
- Twilio — text messages, if you opted in
Each handles only what it needs to do its job. None of them may use your information for their own purposes.
When the law requires it
If we receive a valid legal demand, or if we need to protect someone's safety, we may have to share information. We will tell you when we are permitted to.
If the business is sold
If Procure Media LLC sells or transfers Clinkpass, your information would move with it. We would tell you before that happened, and this policy would continue to apply until you were told otherwise.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your contact details with advertisers, data brokers, or any venue you have not redeemed an offer at.
- We do not share your phone number, your payment details, or your full date of birth with venues, ever.
- We do not track you across other apps and websites.
- We do not use your location for anything except finding venues and confirming a redemption.
How long we keep things
- Your account — while it is open, and for a reasonable period afterwards for tax, accounting and dispute-handling.
- Redemption history — kept while you are a member so you can see it and so venues can reconcile, and for 24 months after your membership ends. After that we strip the personal details and keep only anonymous counts, which venues have already been billed and reported against.
- Consent records — kept for as long as we may need to show what you agreed to, including after you leave.
- Location — the distance at the moment you redeemed is kept as part of that record. We do not keep a continuous history of where you go.
Your choices
You can, at any time:
- See what we hold about you
- Correct anything wrong
- Delete your account and your personal information
- Turn off any marketing message
- Take your data with you in a readable file
Email cs@clinkpass.com and we will action it. Deleting your account removes your
personal details; we keep an anonymised record of redemptions, because venues
have already been billed and reported against them.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law. We apply the choices above to everyone, wherever you are.
Children
Clinkpass is for people 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If we learn we have, we delete it and close the account.
Security
Passwords are hashed, never stored. Connections are encrypted. You can sign in with a passkey — Face ID or Touch ID — in which case your face or fingerprint never leaves your device and never reaches us; we only ever see a cryptographic key. Access to member data is limited to people who need it to run the service.
No system is perfect. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Every version is dated and kept, so you can see what applied when.
